I've also designed several series of note cards, using photographs taken during my yearly trips to Mexico and Greece. There's Greek Cats, A & B, Greek Windows,  A & B, and three Mexican sets: A: At the Fiesta  B: Sacred Places, and C: Skulls and Skeletons.  I hope to have a page up soon with the cards for sale at $6.00 for a packet of six designs.

Every year daughter Eleni and I tour a different part of Mexico with cooking guru and PBS star Susana Trilling.  (Fried grasshoppers, stewed iguana; been there, done that!)   Last year it was Veracruz and Vanilla .  This year it's all about Chocolate in Chiapas and Tabasco. Check out Susana's website

On my last trip to Mexico I photographed the making of Mezcal spirits from the agave cactus in the picturesque family-run factories of Oaxaca.  As part of their Cinco de Mayo celebrations, the
Mezcal Tequila Cantina at 166 Shrewsbury Street, Worcester, MA, (voted Best Mexican Restaurant and Best New Restaurant) is unveiling more than three dozen of my photographs on their walls.

The many photos I've taken of cats in Greece over the years inspired a photo book,
The Secret Life of Greek Cats.  You can see a preview by clicking on the cover at left. If you are a cat person or crazy about all things Greek, or both ... if you want to know the secrets that cats never tell, how to avoid the Evil Eye, what to say to a mermaid with two tails, and what to order in a Greek taverna, or if you need the inside story on Greek dancing, drinking, lore and marriage customs ... then this book is the perfect gift for you or someone you love.

Still in the works are my
Fashion Flashback Cards with antique photos of women arrayed in their finest vintage fashions-images coupled with sassy captions betraying a modern sensibility.  ("I've got a tiara, a title and an 18-inch waist and I still can't get a date!")

I also buy and sell antique images: daguerreotypes, ambrotypes, tintypes, CDV's, cabinet cards-anything pre-1900.  Hope I can soon show you some of my favorites!

There's so much more that I  intend to show you in the coming months on this website, but in the meantime, feel free to contact me with questions, opinion and advice at

Welcome!

This website is still a work in progress, but I'm eager to show you some of the paintings and photographs inspired by my travels and the fascinating people I've met.  In my watercolors, I like to show people in their native environment, often incorporating their folk art, textiles and handicrafts into my paintings. My first solo show opened in March, 2008 at
The First Show Gallery at CC Lowell, in Worcester, MA. If you missed the show, click on the Paintings link to see the gallery.
